Costume and Jewelry of Rajasthan

Costume and jewelry of Rajasthan are world famous. It is the dress of the people which make the Rajasthan colourful. The dresses of the male and female are clearly well defined suiting the climatic condition of the state. The colourful dresses of the people compensate the blooming flowers in the pale back ground of sand. Everything they wear from head to toe including footwear establish one's social, religious and economic status.

Man's attire
Dhoti, colour ful angraksha, payjama, kamarbandhan, turban and foot wear are special to men's dress. The co lour of the turban, its style and how it is tied get special attention from the people. As it symbolizes the religion and cast of the people. People wear angraksha made of cotton clothes tie and die are reserved for special occasion. People of Royal family use Patka or Kamarbandhani. Peasant class do not wear it.

Woman's attire
Rajasthani women are famous for their long colourful dresses. Women wear long skirt which is called ghaghara with kurtis or blouse. They wear odhini or churni on their head. odhini are long cotton clothes.
Rajasthani ghaghara are very famous and gorgeous. The ghaghras are ankle length and made up of beautiful tie and die print.

Shoes
The jutees of Rajasthan are very much fashionable. They uses lather shoes to get protected from heat. It is made of camel or goat, sheep skin.

Jewelry
Rajasthani are very fond of jewelry. Wealthy class wear gold and diamond and many other stones. Jaipur is famous for silver and mina work. The women of Rajasthan wear bangles of conch shell and coconut shells. They wear big ear rings and nose pins. Over all the people of Rajasthan do very gaudy make up.
Either it is boy or girl young or old the dressing sense of the Rajasthani are very colourful. In fact it is their tradition which make them wear such beautiful out fit.
