Tiger and Ranthambhore


Tigers and Ranthambhore are inseparable. Ranthambore is famous for its tiger population. In 80s it was well known for tiger sightings. But over the last two decades the appeal of Ranthambhore has extended beyond its tiger; now it is as much as like a luxury retreat where you can appreciate nature and can spot other families of cat families.
The history of Ranthambhore goes back almost a thousand years when the Chauhan Kings started to build the Ranthambore fort.The fort bears both Rajput and Mughal influence the thousand years old fort is spotted with ancient temples, baoris, chhatris, yagyashala and haunting pavillions.
Cuddled in Aravalli hills Ranthambore becomes more charming because of the old fort that lies within the park. There are water falls, lakes and lush green gives tourists a panoramic view.
Ranthambhore is a must visited place infact favourite haunt of wild life lovers and wildlife photography buffs. Tourists around the world come to explore this national park to see tigers, panther, wild cats, hyena, jackal, marsh crocodile, wild boar, bears, many species of deer and a rich birdlife of over 300 species, including the great Indian horned owl. Aquatic birds can also be seen in Ranthambhore as there are three lakes :: Raj Bagh, Malik Talab and Padam Talab. Although the population of tiger is declining in Ranthambhore but still tigers are visible almost daily, leopard once a week, and sloth bears around once a month. Langurs, sambar,cheetal,neelgai,mongoose testify that they are omnipresent.

How to get
Just 145 km from Jaipur. Easily accessible from Delhi and nearest airport is Kota and Jaipur. Entry to the park is limited and have to obtain a permit.

Accomodation
Excellent accommodation is available suiting all size of pockets in side and outside the park. There are cottages, wild life resorts, forest rest house to to make your trip more adventurous.
